Release Notes - 27th May, 2026
This release includes enhancements across Quantitative Studies, AI Moderator and Copilot along with key bug fixes and platform improvements to improve researcher workflows and participant experience.
New Features / Enhancements
1. Cantonese & Mandarin Localisation for Quantitative Survey Blocks
Quantitative Studies | Study Setup & Participant Experience
Decode now supports Cantonese and Mandarin across all quantitative survey blocks, enabling a fully localised survey experience for Chinese-speaking participants.
What you can do
Researchers can now select Cantonese or Mandarin as the survey language while setting up quantitative studies. Supported blocks including Multiple Choice, Likert Scale, NPS, Dropdown, Ranking, and others will automatically render in the selected language, including validations and system messages.
Why it matters
This improves accessibility for Chinese-speaking participants and creates a more seamless survey experience in their preferred language. Responses continue to be captured consistently in reports with no impact on data quality.
2. Smarter Interview Pacing & Recommended Meeting Duration in AI Moderator
AI Moderator | Meeting Setup & Live Sessions
AI Moderator now dynamically manages interview pacing during live sessions and automatically recommends a meeting duration based on the structure and depth of your discussion guide.
What you can do
While setting up an AI Moderator study, Decode now suggests an ideal meeting duration based on the number and complexity of objectives added to the discussion guide. The recommendation updates automatically as objectives are added, removed, or edited, while still allowing researchers to adjust the duration manually if needed.
During live interviews, the AI Moderator also manages pacing in real time. If participants spend longer on certain topics, the moderator adjusts the conversation flow to help cover remaining objectives. When the planned duration is reached, the session will attempt a natural wrap-up instead of ending abruptly.
Why it matters
Interview timing often varies based on topic depth and participant engagement. With automatic duration recommendations and smarter pacing during sessions, researchers can plan interviews more accurately, ensure better objective coverage, and create a more natural conversation experience for participants.
3. Copilot for Qualitative Studies with Multimodal Insights
Copilot | Qualitative Studies
Copilot now supports qualitative studies by bringing together study recordings, transcripts, uploaded files, analytics, highlights, and media-level insights into one searchable experience.
What you can do
Researchers can now ask natural language questions directly within qualitative studies and receive AI-powered answers backed by both verbal and non-verbal signals. Copilot can interpret recordings, transcripts, uploaded files, highlights, and analytics such as emotion, attention, and gaze to generate structured responses with key insights, supporting evidence, and relevant references across the study.
Queries can be explored at the study level, participant level, or individual media level, making it easier to review specific moments or uncover broader patterns across all qualitative assets.
Why it matters
Qualitative insights are often spread across recordings, transcripts, analytics, and highlights, making analysis time-consuming and difficult to connect. With Copilot now bringing all research artefacts into one searchable experience, teams can move faster from review to synthesis, uncover deeper context using both verbal and behavioral signals, and make decisions with more confidence.
